An indian dance tradition , kathak dance tradition is a dance tradition with a Northern indian influence. This dance style means khalakar or story teller. Kathak is indigenous to northern india and developed under the influence of both hindu and muslim cultures. kathak is characterized by intricate foot work and precise rhythmic patterns that the dancer articulates by controlling about 100 ankle bells. It takes its movements from life,stylizes them, and add a the complex rhythmic patterns .

The dance parts are built on the music created based on the rhythms of sum guna , deguna, thunguna . The main instrument used here in pakwaja. In addiction, the tabla uses instrumental instruments such as sarangi and violin.
